MCC, Inc. has been gradually switching our mixer fleet from steel to aluminum chutes. We currently operate over 80 mixer trucks and we are nearly 80% converted. We have seen a marked decrease in operator issues due to the much lighter aluminum chutes. The new chutes weigh half of what their steel counterparts do. The mixer operators are quicker on the job while handling the lighter chutes. We are certain the jobs get done with less stress and strain. We will continue to convert the entire fleet as our budget allows. 4X Concrete Inc. has been using aluminum chutes for the past seven years. The latest Super Tufflite chutes are working well for us. Out of the 35 mixer trucks, one-third of them have aluminum chutes. They are much lighter in weight then the steel chutes. This allows for easier handling on the job by the mixer operator. We also like the way the concrete runs faster down the aluminum chutes with the poly liners.
